With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we tapped into our crafty side and started thinking outside the box of chocolates and bouquet of red roses. We're taking DIY inspo a step further and came up with some "alternative bouquets" that are not your ordinary flower arrangements.

These alternative bouquets for Valentine's Day combine DIY thoughtfulness with a bit of online shopping

For the Meat Lover (Like Rach's Hubby, John)

Every year Rach gives John a dozen types of salami from around the world. Take her cue, and pick your fave cured sausage links. (Here are some yummy options!) Then bundle them in butcher paper and tie the package with a red ribbon.

(Why not also whip up food in the shape of hearts and roses?)

For the Dog Lover

Puppies will love this one as much as you: Wrap a mesh bag stuffed with dog treats (might we suggest Nutrish soup bones? 😉), toys (this is one of Rach's dog Bella Boo's favorite toys) and bones. (This antler "bone" and this femur bone are popular among our editors' dogs!)

For the Food Lover

Fill an oven-to-table piece of cookware (how about Rach's red baker?), a slow cooker or Instant Pot (this one is almost 50% off!), or a pretty bowl (personally, we think Rach's famous garbage bowl is adorable — and useful!) with a dozen utensils (fittingly, Rach has a red utensil set), and add some herbs (such as rosemary and thyme) and a bottle of EVOO (of course).

Pick up some concert T-shirts from vintage shops (or from Etsy if you're online shopping!), tie them together and either add in some concert tickets (during non-pandemic times, of course!) or vintage vinyl records for an at-home concert. (You can't buy love, but you can buy this Beatles vinyl record or vintage Beatles tees. One of Rach's favorite bands!) For more vintage concert tee inspiration, Rach also loves The Who and The Rolling Stones.
