John Cusimano's Ramos Gin Fizz
This is Huey Long's favorite drink and a great brunch accompaniment and hangover cure. It requires an extremely long shake time but it's worth the effort for this velvety and subtle classic.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces gin
- 1/2 ounces fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 3 drops orange-flower water
- 2 drops vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 ounces heavy cream
- 1 egg white
Yields: 1
Preparation
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Dry shake to emulsify the egg whites with the other ingredients. Add ice and shake vigorously for at least 5 minutes (or as long as you can stand it). Strain into a Collins glass, top with a splash of club soda, stir gently and serve with a straw.
