You won't have to be in the kitchen all day to enjoy the football festivities! If you have a big crowd coming over, make it easy on yourself and use your slow cooker. These four simple and delicious slow cooker recipes are the perfect way to get your game-day grub on without missing a minute of the game.
1.) Slow Cooker Chipotle Tacos
Bone-in pork shoulder is browned first and then place in the slow cooker with caramelized onions. The secret to this flavorful, mouth-watering dish is the chipotle sauce. Mix honey, chili powder for a little heat, smokey cumin and coriander. Shred your tacos and serve in tortillas.
2.) Slow Cooker Italian Hero Dip
It’s our favorite Italian sandwich, but whipped up in dip. Sour cream, shredded provolone cheese, mayo, cream cheese, and scallion, are combined and slow cooked for about 3 hours. We them fold in salami and ham. Top with pepperoncini and cherry tomatoes just before serving. Dig in with sliced garlic bread.
3.) Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sliders with Blue Cheese Aioli and Celery Leaves
When we think football, we think buffalo chicken! We slow cook chicken thighs and toss with hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, molasses, garlic, onion and slow cook for about four to six hours. Once it’s done, shred chicken on top of each bun and smear with Blue Cheese Aioli. Score!
4.) Slow Cooker Chicken Meatball Parmesan
This recipe is perfect for a big crowd and will save you a ton of time. We take our classic chicken meatball recipe and tomato sauce and place into a slow cooker. We cook on high so the meatballs have a chance to cook all the way through. We then stuff Italian hero rolls with the meatballs, sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. Take a big ol bite!
