When Nicole looks in the mirror, she sees a nose that just doesn’t fit her face. “I’m not happy with my profile,” says the mother of three. “There’s a bump on the side of my nose that has always bothered me.” But like most people who consider getting a nose job, Nicole dreads what’s involved in going under the knife -- the pain, the long recovery time, not to mention the cost.
Dr. Cameron Rokhsar, whom Rachael calls "the pioneer of the 15-minute minute, non-surgical nose job," steps in with an alternative called "nasal contouring." He explains that “with simple injections of a filler substance called Radiesse, what we do is we sculpt the nose to get rid of bumps or irregularities to give you a more symmetric look. It’s done under a local numbing cream and it takes less than 15 minutes.”
Dr. Rokhsar explains that the results last about a year and the procedure costs between $1000-1500. “It’s a fraction of the cost of a surgical rhinoplasty.” And recovery time? “You really do it and get on with your life. You might have a little bit of swelling, maybe for a day or two – you can have a little bit of bruising possibly in 25 percent of patients. But it’s meant to be a no-downtime procedure where you go back to your busy professional and personal life.”
How does Nicole feel about her new look? "I feel great!" she says. "It's unbelievable -- and so quick!"
