Kate Hudson
As Kate Hudson nears her 30th birthday, she's got no regrets about leaving her 20s behind. "I'm kind of excited about it," she tells Rachael with a big smile. "Your 20s are so weird because there's so much happening, you know? It's such a transitional time. It's like, "What am I doing with my life? Am I making the right choice?'" As she looks forward to the next decade, she's got a great role model in her mom, who is thriving well into her 60s. "She's all energy. She's fire! And don't get her mad because then you get a different Goldie," Kate jokes. "I kind of love that though -- strong women!"
Her latest film, Bride Wars, is a comedy that Kate describes as a testament to the power of female friendship. "My friendships with my girlfriends are so important and it's really a comment about how and why we need our girlfriends in our lives -- they get you through everything." She stars opposite Anne Hathaway as a pair of old friends who become rivals when their weddings are accidentally booked on the same day. Kate admits that in one scene the competition goes a little too far. "I whacked Annie in the face so hard," Kate says. "I go, 'Are you fine? Because you look a little red,' and she's like, 'No, no. I'm totally fine,' and like two hours later she's sitting in the back in the corner with an ice pack on her face. It was so bad. I really clocked her!"
As a busy mom to 5-year-old Ryder, Kate doesn't have much time to spend in the kitchen baking. But she loves to whip up a quick and easy dessert, and she's sharing her recipe for an Effortless Trifle here!
