Bill O'Reilly After "The View"
You watched Whoopi Goldberg & Joy Behar walk off during his explosive interview on The View, now Bill O’Reilly is back for his first daytime interview since the incident! "I didn't see it coming," he admits to Rachael. "I went in there to plug my book Pinheads and Patriots, and I knew we would have a lively discussion because those ladies and I, with the exception of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, we kind of see life differently. And then they headed to the locker room and it wasn't in half time!"
Bill says that he was hardly offended by the walk-off. "First, when they walked out, I was going to myself, 'This is great!' because I knew I'd get five segments out of it on The Factor. Second, Barbara and I have been friends for a long time, and when she said that shouldn't have happened, that was an interesting take, but she and I disagree on the fundamental reason why it happened. And number three, I had to leave in the middle of the show because "The Situation" was coming on, and he was going to do the rhumba and I didn't want him to grab me!"
Bill explains that the incident on The View was ultimately a positive thing for the country. "It opened the discussion and we need to have that discussion, not only about Muslims and the dangers in the world, but about political correctness. I know this is going to shock you, but I'm not politically correct. The nuns used to try to beat it into me but it didn't work, I just don't have the P.C. gene. If I see it one way I'm going to call it that way. I'm not going to go, 'Oh, somebody might be offended if I say it that way.' And that works for me, which is why my program is successful and my books are successful, but it works against me because a lot of people flee when I come into a room!"
