"If you're a viewer of this show, you probably are already aware that I am not only an animal lover," Rachael says, "I am an advocate!" That includes donating 100 percent of the proceeds from her Nutrish pet food to animal rescue organizations, like the North Shore Animal League, so Rach is thrilled to have the group's spokesperson, Beth Ostrosky Stern, back on the show!

"Howard and I actually just adopted two cats!" Beth says proudly, noting the felines join them and their bulldog. "We are just one big happy family ... and the love that you get from a rescued animal is like none other." And, they've brought an additional unexpected affect - inspiring her radio host husband to get into photography. "There's always a big lens up my nose!"

Because of her work with the North Shore Animal League, Beth says people are always asking her for pet care tips. So, she's out with the book, Oh My Dog, to offer some answers. "I know all the top groomers and nutritionists and I know all these dog people," she explains. "So I took all these questions people have asked me over the years, added my questions, and these experts have contributed. And what I have, is really a book filled with everything you need to know when you have a dog in your life!"

She encourages adopting rescue dogs from a shelter, after first assessing your lifestyle and how a pet would fit. "Do you have children? Do you work full time? Do you have means for a dog walker? Are you going to go away a lot? Do you have means for people to come and watch your dog? You have to decide. This animal that you’re going to bring into your life? You’re going to have it for up to 15 years."

To show how adorable these pets are, Beth and Rachael welcome two rescue dogs from the North Shore Animal League to the stage after first offering these pooches some special pampering. "It’s our first ever doggie makeovers!" Rachael announces. Click on the video to see Coconut and Hilda's cute new looks!
