Double-Duty Kitchen Items
Rachael shares some of her double-duty tips which will have you using your favorite kitchen gadgets in a whole new way!
Use a frying pan instead of a meat mallet.
Keep the weight of the pan even on your downstroke and you'll get nice, thin beautiful cutlets. And it's lots of fun!
A bottle of wine makes a great rolling pin. What goes better with pizza than a nice bottle of wine? Stop by your local pizzeria or supermarket and pick up some pizza dough. Let it sit out to room temperature, then scatter a little flour on it. Flour your hands and a bottle of vino - then rock and roll the bottle over the dough! The only rolling pin that you can drink with dinner!
Broiler pans are great for bacon. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place the bacon strips on the broiler pan - you'll get even shrinkage for your bacon, and the fat drips away through slots in the pan.
