First Lady Michelle Obama's Tips to Get Kids to Eat Veggies
The First Lady is committed to encouraging young Americans to eat healthier and get fit with her Let's Move! campaign and the Presidential Youth Fitness Program, but of course that effort starts at home. What's her strategy when it comes to her own kids? "If they're not hungry I always say, 'Finish your vegetables and then don't come back for dessert,' and that usually gets them to eat everything!" she explains.
The First Lady admits it can be difficult to stick to her own healthy regimen while on the campaign trail. "Food is comfort and when you're traveling and campaigning sometimes it's just like, 'Oh I just want a hamburger and French fries,'" she says. "I try to bring a jump rope. I'll go to the gym, but sometimes being the First Lady in the gym at a hotel kind of messes up the gym experience for everybody else in the hotel, so I try to stay in my room!"
