Gretta's Shoe Challenge
Most women take their shoe shopping very seriously, but even those who love their heels are probably not as devoted as Susan Discorfano-Caiafa. "My house is overridden by shoes," says the 41-year-old, who admits to spending $30,000 on the 358 pairs of shoes in her collection. They fill every closet in her home, even taking up space occupied by her teenage son. "We have to keep the closet door shut when his friends are over. He's a boy so he's not happy to have stilettos in the closet."
Can Gretta get this shoe lover to part with some of her beloved possessions in the name of good will? She flies Susan to the Zappos.com shoe warehouse in Kentucky with a challenge: pick out new designer shoes and pay for them by donating at least 10 of her own pairs of shoes to charity for each new sandal, boot and sneaker. "I would do that," Susan says -- and the shopping begins! By the end of the day she donates 170 pairs from her closet to Soles 4 Souls, which provides shoes and clothing to those in need.
Rachael is so impressed that she challenges her viewers to do the same! Get involved by pledging to donate a pair of shoes.
