When most people think of hair loss, they think of guys worrying about their receding hairlines. But as Dr. Holly Phillips tells Rachael, it's not just men who are concerned about this. "Forty percent of women, by the time they hit age 40, have some significant hair loss," she says. "It really affects all of us." Many products on the market claim to restore hair and give you a more natural, fuller look, so three of Rachael's viewers put some of those claims to the test.

Jim, 40, says, "For the last 10 years I have been losing my hair. I feel a little bit embarrassed with how it looks -- I'm over it." He hopes to get his hairline back with some high-tech lasers, so he agrees to try the HairMax Laser Comb, which claims to regrow hair that's thicker, healthier and more vibrant. Jim reveals the bottom line on his hairline. "After about 4 weeks I started to see some difference," he says. "My mother-in-law told me that my hair looked darker!"

Antoinette, 23, started plucking her eyebrows when she was 13. "They were so thick that I wanted to get a nice shape," she admits. "But then I overplucked!" She wishes they were fuller, so she tries Talika Lipocils Eyebrow Conditioning Gel, which claims to stimulate eyebrow growth, making them thicker and healthier. "It works!" she tells Rachael after a few weeks of testing. "Watching myself back on tape I was amazed at how thin they really were before. I wanted them to grow a little bit closer into the center, but they definitely got thicker over all."

Corinne, 24, says, "I hate the way my eyelashes look! For the past two to three years I've noticed more of my eyelashes falling out." She's willing to try any product that will help her grow her eyelashes and make them look fuller, so she puts DermaQuest DermaLash to the test. The product claims to stimulate hair follicles resulting in longer, fuller and more youthful-looking eyelashes. After using this product for several months, Corinne says she is pleased with the results and will continue to use it. "It took about a month and a half for it to start working and to make a difference in my eyelashes," she says, "so you have to give it some time. But it's easy -- you just add it to your nightly routine."

Aside from these products, Rachael asks Dr. Phillips if there are any general health rules one can follow to inspire hair to grow or to keep it healthy. "Hair loss has a lot of different factors," Dr. Phillips points out, "but diet is important -- have a healthy, well-balanced diet, and exercise matters. For women, if you suddenly notice that you have a lot of hair loss, I suggest getting to the doctor and having your iron levels tested. Low iron can actually cause hair loss in women, so it's just a good idea to pop in to the doctor if you notice a sudden change."
