Modern Family dominated at the Emmy® awards and cast member Jesse Tyler Ferguson says he is still getting used to the breakout hit’s popularity. "A year ago I'd barely gotten the job - we hadn't even shot the pilot," he tells Rachael. "So the fact that I'm sitting next to you a year later is madness!"

Jesse plays Mitchell Pritchett, who along with his life partner Cameron (Eric Stonestreet), has adopted a baby girl named Lily. Jesse explains how playing an on-screen dad has been an eye-opening experience. "I'm desperate to be a parent someday ... I'm reassessing that now," he laughs. "It's nice having a kid and then being able to pass it off and not see her for a day - like having a prop child!"

Modern Family fans can still get their fix of Jesse during the show's summer hiatus by catching him in two "Shakespeare in the Park" performances, The Merchant of Venice and Winter's Tale. "It's amazing," Jesse says about the annual New York City summer shows. "I've done it twice now and it's always the best experience; it's like doing theater camp ... but with Al Pacino!"
