Rachael welcomes her most VIP guest yet -- First Lady Laura Bush! She is dressed in red to promote awareness of the number one killer of American women: heart disease.
Mrs. Bush tells Rachael about the positive effect the Red Dress Project has had. Even Rachael braved the runway for the cause! "Now more than 55 percent of women know that heart disease affects women. They know what the symptoms are; they know to go immediately to the emergency room if they have any of the symptoms. And then they also know what they can do to prevent it. All the good ways you can prevent it, like exercise," says the First Lady.
While the Red Dress Project has been instrumental in raising awareness of heart disease, there can be some hazards when women choose to wear a red dress -- the same red dress, that is! The first lady shares an embarrassing moment: "The night of the Kennedy Center Honors, I had a red dress on and three other people had the exact same red dress on -- it was a major fashion faux pas!"
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, Rachael wants to know how the president is at remembering the holiday. "Not very good," she admits. "But fortunately, there is a White House florist and they always send up flowers. And he signs the card!" They'll also have White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford to thank for a romantic dinner that evening.
