Olivia Newton-John
Olivia Newton-John recently hit a milestone birthday and the breast cancer survivor says at 60 she has never felt better! "Let me tell you, it's the best year of my life," she tells Rachael. "Nothing to dread girls, everything to look forward to. It's wonderful!" She's also celebrating her wedding after eloping with her longtime friend, John Easterling. "We had two weddings. We had one in Peru, which is where we met, and we had one in America ... in Florida where he lives," she says. "We didn't tell anybody. It was just us."
Sixteen years after her breast cancer diagnosis, Olivia refers to herself as a breast cancer "thriver" as opposed to simply a "survivor." She's busy raising funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Center in Australia, which will house both research and treatment centers, and a wellness center for patients. "When I went through breast cancer you would have to go out and seek alternative therapies or things to help you, like I did acupuncture and meditation and homeopathy and had massage, and I was able to do that," Olivia says. "So my dream was if ever I was lucky enough to survive this, I could create this as a place where everyone could go on the hospital grounds ... treat all of you and the mind."
She also designed the Liv Breast Self-Examination Kit to encourage women to check themselves at home. "Why I'm so passionate about this and why I've created it," Olivia says, "is because I found my lump myself through breast self-examination."
Olivia then gives away DVD copies of the 30th anniversary edition of Grease and heads backstage to chat about her daughter Chloe and give her favorite piece of parenting advice. Watch it all in this online exclusive!
