Packing Up the Set for the Big Move!

As Rachael preps items from the set for the big move to the brand new studio on Monday, Sabrina Soto drops by with packing tips that you can use, too!

• Sabrina's must-have list of supplies includes boxes, furniture blankets, packing peanuts, tape, box cutters or scissors ... a bottle of wine. "You'll need it!" she laughs.

• Make sure you pack and mark an "Open First" box that you open first at the new location and includes items you'll need right away: Hammer, hanging hardware, scissors, etc. The "Open Last" box contains things you'll need at the end of a night of unpacking: Pajamas, toilet paper, snacks and a toothbrush.

• Label all your boxes on blue painters tape so you can remove it and sell the used boxes later. And be specific: write "plates" or "dishes" instead of a generic "kitchen."

• Wrap and tape your breakable items only once around; if you over tape it will become damaged once you start unpacking. Plus, you want about two inches of bubble wrap or packing peanuts between items.

• Sabrina recommends using peanuts made of a vegetable derivative, which is environmentally friendly and dissolves in water.

• Do not overload boxes — nothing over 50 pounds.

• For larger items that you can't disassemble, wrap them in a furniture blanket and then a layer of moving plastic wrap for the best protection.
