Pat Benatar
Rachael admits that Pat Benatar used to be one of her "hairbrush" idols, meaning that as a kid she used to belt out Pat's tunes while singing into her hairbrush. Pat reveals that she used to do the same thing when she was a teenager: "I used to sing into my hairbrush to Robert Plant because I just wanted to be him!"
Pat, whose autobiography Between a Heart and a Rock Place chronicles the story of being a female musician in the male-dominated 80s rock world, shares the story of meeting guitarist and husband of almost 30 years, Neil "Spyder" Giraldo. "The day that he walked in, I saw him and it was like getting hit in the face with a two-by-four," she tells Rachael. "And I just said to my manager, 'I don't care if he can play, we'll get him lessons!'"
Pat and Spyder have two daughters, Haley, 25 and Hana, 16, but Pat admits that being the best-selling female rocker of all-time doesn't go as far as you'd think in their household. "First of all, they think you are a total dork," Pat laughs. "You are so uncool in their eyes." Still, Pat suspects that her daughters secretly admire their rocker mom: "I know that they actually like it because I'm their ring tone on their phones!"
