Rachael's Tips for a Mom Restaurateur
"It's pandemonium having a child and having a restaurant!" says Tricia, who wishes that she and her husband had time to expand their menu. After hearing Tricia's story, Rachael tells her, "You really make me think of my own family when I'm watching your family." She also grew up around food, recalling, "My mom worked in restaurants for over 40 years and a lot of that time she had us three kids along with her!" Rachael suggests adding a flavorful Mexican Fish Salpicón to their menu, and encourages Tricia to get her young daughter involved in the kitchen. "It teaches you to appreciate food and to use all of it, and it teaches you how to be self-sufficient, you know how to cook for yourself. You can learn a lot of great lessons growing up in a restaurant!"
