Super Bowl Recipe Playoff III
With the big game only days away, it's time for Rachael's third annual Super Bowl® Recipe Playoff! Last year, Rocco DiSpirito crowned Jacksonville Jaguars star David Garrard the champ, and his winning recipe of Buffalo Chicken Dip went on to become one of the Top 10 Recipes of the Year! This year, Nick Lachey will make the call when these three NFL greats go head-to-head in Rachael's kitchen:
• Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason is throwing down with his Pork Chop Parmigiana. "I'm making the winning dish. As athletes we compete, and two of these guys already beat me this season, so I owe them one!"
• Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne is heating things up with his Grilled Steak, Potatoes and Asparagus. "I know these guys can play football on the field, but once they see me in the kitchen it's going to be all over!"
• New York Giants right tackle Kareem "The Bear" McKenzie already has a Super Bowl® ring, and hopes to score a Recipe Playoff ring with his Taco Soup. "If I didn't think I could win it, I wouldn't be in it - plain and simple."
Nick sizes up the players and makes a confession. "It was always my childhood dream to play in the NFL," he tells them, "but I realize seeing these guys that I would have died! It would not have turned out well for me at all, so mom if you're watching, thank you for keeping me from football!" Nick adds that he won't be showing any favoritism during the contest. "I'm a Bengals fan, so I can judge this competition with complete objectivity," he says. "But as a side rule, the judge can be bribed if anyone's interested!"
After Nick finishes his tasting, he declares a winner - Chad Henne, who takes home the coveted Super Bowl® Recipe Playoff ring and an XZipit Home Theater Recliner from DreamSeat!
