Surf's Up with Katie Lee & Rach
Katie Lee is known for her cookbooks with recipes designed to help moms get their kids to eat their veggies, so she always loves to share a new recipe with Rach! This time, she's making fish tacos, a dish inspired by the location of her novel, Groundswell, about a woman ending a high profile marriage. "She escapes to Mexico to get away from the paparazzi and she finds herself surfing," explains Katie. The book took inspiration from Katie's own divorce from songwriter Billy Joel, whom she describes as her best friend. "He's very supportive," she says. "We like to joke around that he's the best ex-husband a girl could ask for!" Rach asks what he thought of her book and Katie jokes, "He thought it was really well written, but it was maybe a little too 'chick lit' for him!"
Like her main character, Katie reinvigorated her life after her marriage by learning to surf, so Rachael challenges her to show off those skills - on a surfing machine in the studio! Watch the video above to see Katie "hang ten" on the board and then challenge Rach to give it a try!
