All week long, Rachael has been showing contenders in her search for the Worst Kitchen in America. Now, after reviewing hundreds of entries from across the country, Rachael reveals the family with the worst kitchen in America ...

Tom & Jessica Shafnisky from Nazareth, PA!

Some of the lowlights of Tom & Jessica's kitchen include: mismatched cabinets that are very old and way too small; an unfinished ceiling that gives them a view of the second floor bathtub; parts of the wall are chipping away, and one large hole brings cold air in from the basement; a very shallow sink which they've nicknamed "the glass eater" because of all the glasses and plates they've lost to it; and a half-finished sunporch which looks like it will forever be a work-in-progress.

To deliver the good news to the Shafniskys, Rachael sends in Eric Stromer, host of HGTV's Over Your Head.

Eric brings a special video announcement from Rachael, declaring their kitchen the worst in America! And best of all, Rachael's going to have their entire kitchen remodeled from top to bottom!

In order to start work on the Shafnisky's kitchen, Rachael needs to get the couple out of the way, so she sends them on a week vacation, courtesy of Mohegan Sun Hotel & Casino! After a quick call to Jessica's parents to watch their daughters Cecilia and Emma, Tom and Jessica are on their way. Time to bring in the pros!

Mike Gillenkirk and the guys from Kitchen Tune-Up start with a little demolition -- removing all of the old fixtures and non-working appliances, including the dreaded "glass eater."

The team fixes all those gaping holes, gives the kitchen a much-needed ceiling, installs new cabinets and granite countertops, and applies a fresh coat of paint. Cuisinart provides some brand new appliances, Rachael delivers a new set of her knives and pots and pans, and Evette Rios gives the kitchen some finishing touches. Last but not least, the unfinished sun porch is finally completed, and now also functions as a computer room, thanks to a MacBook Pro provided by Apple.

The work is done, but there's one thing missing in the new kitchen -- food! Thanks to Sara Lee, the cabinets and fridge are well stocked ... and Rachael's got her Veggie Mac & Cheese cookin' for the first dinner in the new kitchen!

Tom & Jessica left their nightmare room in the hands of Rachael and her team of professionals. One week later, they return and are left speechless by their new dream kitchen!
