If you're anything like us, you're always on the hunt for quick and easy ways to get glowing skin

Well, we're not alone, because it's one of the most popular questions social media influencer Hannah Bronfman — who has over 600k followers on Instagram — gets.

"I have a beautifying mask in my book that I swear by," she tells us. "It's a little unconventional, and it looks like a chocolate pudding." (But DON'T eat this mask — it contains clay! If you're looking for foods that will help you get glowing skin, we've got you covered.)

Hannah uses the mask twice a week and leaves it on until it starts to tighten. If you leave it on too long, she stresses, you risk sending impurities back into your skin.

"When it's past the time," the Instagram influencer explains, "some of those impurities that are ready to be washed off might go back into the skin."

Get Hannah's DIY "Beautifying Mask" how-to from her book Do What Feels Good below — and keep reading for the skin benefits.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of raw coconut yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons raw cacao powder
  • 1 teaspoon kaolin clay
  • 1 teaspoon bentonite clay
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • ½ mashed banana

Method:

  1. In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Apply to the face and leave on until mask starts to tighten.
  3. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Hannah breaks down all the benefits of the DIY mask for us.

Benefits of cacao: "Cacao has a lot of the same benefits topically as it would if you were to eat it. [It's rich in] antioxidants," the influencer explains. "It actually helps with redness and blemishes."

Benefits of banana: "Banana has a lot of potassium and great minerals and vitamins [and] is a great agent for thickening up the mask," Hannah says.

Benefits of manuka honey: "Raw honey [is] super anti-bacterial," she explains. "[It's] very good for the skin and super hydrating."

Benefits of clay: The clays help pull out impurities, the wellness guru explains.

Benefits of coconut yogurt: "Coconut yogurt is so rich in probiotics," Hannah tells us.
