How much should you put down for a down payment on a home? It's a question every home-owning hopeful has, right?
Luckily, Bravo's "Million Dollar Listing" star and author of Sell it Like Serhant, Ryan Serhant, has the answer!
Q: "I want to buy a home. I've been saving a lot of money and I just want to know how much do I have to put down? What does my deposit have to look like?"
— Ezekiel, studio audience member
A: "You want to put down as much as you possibly can, because the lower your debt is going to be, the lower your mortgage payments are going to be [and] the more comfortable you're going to feel, because you live in your monthly payments."
So what's the comfortable amount Ryan always tells clients? 25%.
"If you could put down at least 25 percent, you will comfortable and least stressed. Minimum, minimum, minimum is 20," Ryan says.
