What if you want to make a recipe that calls for it and don't feel like going to the store to grab some??

Luckily, there are a few easy ways to "fake" buttermilk using ingredients you almost certainly have in your fridge and pantry.

HOW DO YOU MAKE A SUBSTITUTE FOR BUTTERMILK?

Simply add a tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice to a cup of milk and let it stand for 5-10 minutes. You can also use yogurt or sour cream watered down with some milk.
