The perfect holiday party outfit doesn’t need to break the budget!
Celebrity stylist June Ambrose is here for our latest “Splurge or Save” and she brought along three twins to show off the season’s best looks for a night out on the town.
One look is pricey though, and the other is more budget-friendly -- can you spot the difference?
METALLIC SKIRT
“Bring disco to the daytime!” says Ambrose. She’s paired a gold pleated skirt with booties and an on-trend, off-the-shoulder top. “The greatest thing about this look is that it can be worn day or night.”
“I don’t think this trend is going away anytime soon, so if this is your style and you want to invest in a really quality piece like this, feel free to spend a little more,” she adds.
SPLURGE: Tracy Reese, $298
SAVE: Bardot, $89
FLORAL SHOES
Another big difference is the shoes. Florals are in for fall and winter, but there’s no need to spend a mint. “These are such a statement that you may not want to wear them too much,” says Ambrose, “so you may not want to overspend on them.”
SPLURGE: Marc Fisher, $225
SAVE: Zara, $59
RED JUMPSUIT
Kyra and Kara model two looks: one which rings up at a whopping $644 and another “save” that will cost you just $171 -- both feature a dramatic red jumpsuit which is an easy “all-in-one” outfit!
The “spend” look is a smart buy, says Ambrose, if you want higher-quality fabric and deeper colors. Also, the fit hugs a little more in all the right places on the Black Halo version.
SPLURGE: Black Halo, $325
SAVE: Adelyn Ray, $92

THE UPDATED LEATHER JACKET
...Isn’t actually leather. Ambrose is a big of the less expensive synthetic options, but “pleather” has come a long way in the last decade or two! “Synthetic leather is made to be easier to maintain, stain resistant, and fade resistant, so it may actually last you longer,” she says.
SPLURGE: Mango, $199
SAVE: Zara, $49.90
