For the 27th year in a row, Labs topped the American Kennel Club (AKC) list of the most popular dog breeds in the U.S. The eager-to-please breed makes a great companion and are known for their loving personalities.

Other popular pups? The French Bulldog, which rose two spots from No. 6 to No. 4 in 2017, and the German Shorthaired Pointer, an athletic sporting dog that made its way into the top 10 for the first time in 2017!
According to the AKC, Frenchies may be the top dog in most major U.S. cities (New York City, L.A., and San Francisco), but Labs still reign supreme in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Raleigh, Seattle, and Washington D.C.!
