Ingredients

  • 2 small oranges (Justine likes to use 1 Cara Cara and 1 blood orange, but you can use whatever you prefer)
  • ½ grapefruit
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt or labneh, plus more as needed
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 ½ scoops (about 60 grams) vanilla protein powder
  • 1/3 cup cool water, plus more as needed
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom

Yield

Serves: Makes 12 pieces

Preparation

Cut the skins off your citrus in a hexagonal shape, thinly slice horizontally and set aside. In a small bowl, stir together the yogurt and honey and set aside.

In a large bowl, stir together the protein powder, water, cinnamon and cardamom until it forms a thick paste that's about the same consistency as the yogurt. The amount of water needed will vary based on your preferred protein powder, so add more as needed.

On a parchment-lined baking sheet, dollop alternating scoops of the protein powder mixture and yogurt mixture. Swirl together with a knife until you have a surface that is about ½ centimeter thick.

Spread the citrus out on top of the surface. It can overlap in places, but the design is up to you. Freeze for 6 to 12 hours, then slice into 12 even pieces and serve.
