John created this cocktail as an ode to fall with classic ingredients for this time of year: cranberry, cider, oranges and rosemary. The drink is a riff on a vodka-cranberry and goes great with Rachael's Turkey Breast Roulade with Simple Gravy. Both recipes are in her new book, This Must Be the Place.
Pro Tip from John: To flame an orange peel, hold a quarter-size piece of peel above the drink zest-side down. Light a match, hold it between the peel and the drink and squeeze the peel to express the oils. The orange oils should flare up. Drop the peel into the drink.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, cranberry juice, orange juice and simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Top with hard cider and garnish with a flamed orange peel, a rosemary sprig and a straw.
Always Drink Responsibly.
