It's wedding season, and if you're in the process of planning your big day, no doubt choosing a dress is towards the top of your to-do list. But how do you find the right one? Gretta encourages brides to choose a dress that will flatter their body type, because not every dress is going to flatter every figure. For example, bride Melanie has narrow shoulders and curvy hips, so she should avoid drop waists and a lot of volume along the hipline or lower, according to Gretta.

Rule 2: Take Your Day-to-Day Look and Translate it into Your Wedding Day Look

You want to look like yourself on your wedding day, Robert stresses. So take a look at your everyday style, and find dresses that fit your style identity.

Rule 3: Make Sure You Will Feel Comfortable in the Dress

Robert points out that even though strapless wedding gowns have lots of built-in scaffolding to keep them in place, many brides spend their wedding day afraid their strapless dress will fall down. So Robert suggest finding a dress that you can feel one hundred percent comfortable in, so you can dance all night without worrying about your dress.

Rule 4: Choose the Right White

Gretta points out that some whites have a yellow undertone, while some have a pink hue. Hold the fabric up to your skin to see which kind of white flatters you most, then choose something from that range.
