"Can I Wear ... Wedding Gowns?"

It's the day every little girl dreams of, but all of that anticipation can translate into major pressure when you finally become a bride-to-be and head out to select your wedding gown! So Rachael asks Gretta to bring her fashion savvy and go shopping with three viewers who are getting ready for their special day. Check out Gretta's tips below, and click through the image gallery on the right for her suggestions for a backyard barbecue ceremony, a bride who is elegant but not frilly, and an appropriate dress for a second marriage. And, if you have a question for Gretta, [she's answering them on the message boards](/club/board/show/54/)! • **Pull magazine images for ideas before heading to the stores.** "Specifically look for cut, color and shape," Gretta advises. "If you get a ballpark, it does save a lot of time because when you step in there and there are dresses being thrown at you, it's hard! You kind of forget what you like." • **Name your budget.** When you pick a price range, you'll have an easier time sticking to that price tag if you only frequent shops that match your budget. "That way you don't go into a boutique, try on a designer dress and then have someone say to you, 'This is $5,000,' and suddenly you're heartbroken," Gretta says. "You don't need that, there are plenty of amazing dresses at every price and have great value." • **Be flexible.** Try everything you can, because you just never know what you will like. "If there is a pro working with you and she says, 'I know you thought strapless, but what about this?' Try it on!" Gretta suggests. "Just take a gamble. What's the worst you can do? You can take it off ... definitely have a little fun with it."
