Don't let images of teenage models in the magazines fool you -- 40 is more fabulous than ever these days! To prove it, *More* magazine and Wilhelmina Models teamed up for a 40+ Model Search, reaching out to women of all different shapes and sizes in nine different cities. The women who entered had never modeled before, which was exactly what the folks behind the contest were seeking. "We were looking for another dimension, something extra," says *More*'s Beauty & Fashion Director, Lois Joy Johnson. "What they're doing with their lives has to be interesting, or they should have some characteristics we think are special. It's not just a pretty face." "What distinguishes these women from the rest was that they have this incredible spirit," says Peggy Northrop, *More*'s Editor-In-Chief. "They really do exude that sense of confidence and well-being that comes from inside." Watch the video above to meet the finalists. All of the finalists are accomplished and beautiful, but most importantly, they revel in their age. "My advice for women turning 40 is to celebrate," says Peggy. "Your best years are really ahead. The women in our model search contest are the living proof of that." What's their secret? And I think what better age to model, and I think we're more beautiful than ever now." **Paula, 41 ** "I think if there's another secret to being beautiful at any age, it's probably taking the time to care for yourself."
