When it comes to quick fixes for areas of our bodies that we can't stand, Mally Roncal says most people know what to do ... except when it comes to the chin. "If you've got a little belly, you can wear your Spanx," she explains. "If your lips feel thin you can wear a little gloss. But you never think, 'What can I do with my chin?' Immediately you think surgery." Three women who hate their chins turn to Mally and her makeup bag of tricks for help.
**The "Frog"**
Kim, 33, says, "When I look in the mirror, I see big eyes and no chin -- so pretty much, a frog." Her lack of chin has even defined what hairstyle Kim chooses. "I never wear a ponytail," she admits. "I always wear it down." From haircuts to makeup to jewelry, Kim has tried everything to make her jawline and chin pop. "If I had a chin I loved," she says, "I think it would make me feel more self-confident -- it would just make me happy!"
Mally tells Kim, "The shaping powder is your best friend. We always talk about playing with the light. Start at the back of the ear and literally reshape that jawline to create a chin. And apply a bit of shimmer directly on the chin to make it come forward." Mally warns against using a brown eye shadow or a heavy bronzer. "You're going to look like you have a 5 o'clock shadow," she advises.
To complete the look, Mally draws attention to Kim's eyes. "I took a @[shaping secret eyelift wand](http://www.mallybeauty.com/store/category/eyes/eye_liner/item/EY0005/shaping_secret_eyelift_wand/) -- this gives you that Angelina Jolie sort of cat eye look." **The "Turtle"**
"Sometimes I feel like my chin makes me look like a turtle," cries Jessica. "You back yourself up into your shell and your chin just grows." Because the 31-year-old believes her chin makes her look very heavy, Jessica hates looking at herself in photos -- she even had her wedding photographer airbrush her chin out of her wedding pictures! "If I felt better about my chin I would be a lot more outgoing," she says. "A lot more willing to have pictures taken of myself."
Mally applies the same shading and shimmering techniques as she did with Kim to contour the jaw line, and adds some touches specific to Jessica. "We really wanted to open that eye area, so we did a little bit of a shimmery shadow right on the inner corners of the eyes. Not only does that make you look like you've had 8 hours of sleep (which we all need!) but it really opens up the eyes and makes them sparkle and pop."
Mally also suggests to Jessica that she wear a trendy scarf or pair of earrings to direct focus away from her chin, and that she could improve her look with a few exercises. "For 10 seconds, stick your tongue out as hard as you can," Mally instructs. "And chewing sugarless gum apparently really tightens the muscles around your jaw area and it will pull your double chin up."
**The "Banana Face"**
Melinda, 31, says that her chin is so prominent that she's nicknamed herself "banana face." She never wears her hair back because she hates her crescent-like profile, and often wears turtlenecks or tops with high collars to conceal her chin. Melinda has even dreamed of having plastic surgery to have the bone shaved off the tip. "If I had the chin that I loved and wanted, I think I'd be much more self-confident," she says. "I'd wear my hair back and I wouldn't feel so uncomfortable."
Mally starts on Melinda's look with the old standby -- shading and shimmering. "Everyone can benefit from a little bit of shading on the jaw line," she explains. "It makes our neck look longer, it makes our face more chiseled, it makes us look thinner -- and hello, who doesn't want that?" Mally adds a bit of @[perfecting powder](http://www.mallybeauty.com/store/category/face/powder/item/FA0014/perfecting_powder/) to keep the chin matte. "When it's shiny, it's going to come out and say hello to everybody." In addition to the chin, Mally places the powder on the two sides of Melinda's nose and on her forehead. "With those four places, you are going to be all good -- especially when you want to minimize that chin."
