Katie Lee's wedding to Billy Joel was the talk of the town in 2004, but when the couple split in June of 2009, Katie discovered that their breakup would be just as public. "It is hard to go through," she tells Rachael, "and I'm sure anyone who's been through a divorce knows that it's not easy; doing it in front of everybody makes it even harder."
Katie says that not only has she had a great support group of family and friends to help her through this tough time, but that she's also received comfort from a very unusual place. "People who I didn't even know reached out to me on Facebook and Twitter and sent me their favorite breakup recipes," Katie laughs. "All those chocolate recipes came in very handy at three o'clock in the morning!"
Rachael asks Katie how her relationship with Billy stands now. "You know, we've remained friends," she says. "Just because you split up doesn't mean those feelings just turn off. We talk often, and I really just want the best for him. I want him to be happy, and I really think he wants the same for me."
As far as what the tabloids report about the breakup, Katie doesn't give them a second thought. "Ninety-nine percent of what you read isn't true," she confirms. "I don't Google myself, I don't read tabloids and I just don't introduce that negativity in my life. You've got to stay positive and move forward."
Katie says that a good distraction from all the drama was working on her new book about entertaining, *The Comfort Table.* "It was good to be able to have something to focus on," she says. "I love to cook and be in the kitchen, so this book was a good outlet." Rachael jokes that she's jealous of Katie's baking skills, but that it's a good thing when Katie comes over for dinner. "She always brings dessert," Rachael shares, "because she knows it's the only way she's going to get one!"
Katie demonstrates one of the recipes from her book that even Rachael could make - Honey-Cherry Yogurt Popsicles.
