"Our Parents Are Embarrassing!"

"My parent embarrass me a lot," complains 10-year-old Raegan, whose folks enjoy impromptu singing and dancing in front of their kids' friends and when picking them up at school. Raegan says her five younger siblings don't yet realize how humiliating it can be, but the embarrassing antics are taking a toll on her. "My parents have made me cry a few times," she admits. "They don't get it. It's horrible." So Rachael sends Valerie Bertinelli to step in before they go too far! First, she talks to Raegan and learns that despite trying to get them to stop, her mom and dad just see it as good fun. Then Valerie asks for the parents' point of view. "Our home, we want it to be a positive place," says Raegan's mom, Cassie. "We want to have fun with our kids, and we feel like, if they kind of get embarrassed along the way ... sorry about that!" Her father Chad admits that as a fifth grader Raegan might be outgrowing some of his wild antics, but that he isn't going to tone it down: "She needs to understand, that's just going to get more traumatic as she gets into high school because I'm not changing." Can Valerie help Raegan get through to her fun-loving parents? "It's great to have a house full of humor," she tells them. "You want it to be a happy home. But if she's saying, 'Will you please lighten up?' -- it doesn't mean stop [your antics], but when she says stop, you have to know when to quit." Chad and Cassie see her point ... but not without sending Valerie away with her own song! Valerie explains that it all comes down to respecting your child, and she challenges the parents to make a pact. "You can have all the fun and dancing and songs that you want to have," Valerie says, "except in public places." A slightly hesitant Chad agrees: "I can certainly do that."
