Chef Aaron Morrisey had to adapt his teen culinary program at Bergen Family Center in NJ when Covid hit. And "QuaranTEEN Kitchen" was born.
"The physical location of the kitchen and the connection that we had with those students, [Covid] took it away," Chef Aaron says. "It really challenged us as a program. We had to think outside the box." And so, they developed meal kits for the teens to cook with, with Chef Aaron guiding them virtually. (Get his recipe for one of the program favorites — Sausage-Stuffed Shells!)
We wanted to help Chef Aaron's efforts, of course, so our friends at Instacart are giving Aaron $10,000, so he can get all of the groceries and supplies he needs.
