Tyler Perry

When celebrities drop by the studio, they typically rave about the great food they get served backstage, but Rachael has some trouble getting Tyler Perry to even take a taste! "I'm down 17 pounds in four weeks," the entertainment mogul says, owing his success to Janet Jackson. "She turned me on to her nutritionist and he's fantastic -- the supplements and the food, and the way he goes from high carbs to low carbs and the way he manipulates your metabolism -- it's wonderful." The writer, director, producer and actor is a true rags to riches story, going from homelessness to Hollywood success who's now working with A-list stars. His movie, *The Family That Preys Together,* has Alfre Woodard and Kathy Bates playing a pair of women trying to get their grown children to get along. "All my films are about that," Tyler says. "They're about forgiveness." Tyler is probably best known for putting on a dress and grey wig as Madea, an advice-spewing grandmother inspired by his aunt and mother. So what would Madea say about his success, which will soon include his own studio? "I want some more money! It's all because of me!" Tyler jokes, before adding, "That broad has been a blessing to me." Rachael then gives Tyler a plaque for the new studio bearing the phrase "A Place Where Dreams Believe," a philosophy that he subscribes to. "That's the motto," Tyler says. "What I found in life is that even in my darkest times ... there is a point when that dream will start to believe for you, and even though you're tired, you can't make it, you'll still get visions, you'll still get dreams about it happening, and as long as you keep moving it comes to pass." **Only online!** [Backstage after the show, Tyler offers a sneak peek at Madea's next movie!](/show/segments/view/backstage-tyler-perry/)
